Women listening and supporting one another

Why The Anchor Room exists

Difficult relationships, abuse, trauma, financial hardship and major life changes can leave women feeling isolated, overwhelmed or unsure of their worth. The Anchor Room’s aim is to make space for women to be heard, build resilience, and take positive steps towards a future that feels more their own.

The organisation’s message is that survival need not be the end goal. Women deserve support to move towards a life where they can feel able to thrive.

Meet the directors

Created by women, for women

The Anchor Room was co-founded by Sophia and Amy, whose lived experience and commitment to supporting women shape the work.

Sophia Lorraine, director and co-founder

Director & co-founder

Sophia Lorraine

Driven by lived experience and a commitment to helping women rebuild after abuse and trauma, Sophia co-founded The Anchor Room to support women to reclaim who they are and move towards their potential.

As a multi-entrepreneur, certified Self Love & Confidence Coach and Intuitive Healer, Sophia combines subconscious healing with practical tools to support women in reclaiming their identity, confidence, finances and future. Her work especially focuses on life after narcissistic relationships and single parenthood. As a single mum of three herself, Sophia understands many of the challenges women face and supports them to move from survival towards self-leadership, renewed purpose and self-worth.

Amy Burrage, director and co-founder

Amy Burrage

Amy is a crystal chakra healer, Reiki practitioner and holistic spiritual guide who combines energy healing with practical tools to support women navigating challenging or abusive relationships. A devoted mum of two, Amy empowers women to set healthy boundaries, protect their inner peace and reclaim their personal power through workshops.

Her gentle, grounded approach helps women reconnect with their intuition, heal energetically and step into a calmer, more empowered chapter of life.
